So renovation is still happening.
Slowly, but progressing.
Plumbing is done, tub is in, floor is down, walls are up!
Now just waiting for spackling, painting, tiling, door installation, toilet, shower door, and remaining fixtures. I can't wait to move back home. I miss my bed. And Aurora misses home!

Update! - Why do Reno's take so long?
So I forgot how long renovations took - but also, so much has happened - both in my apartment and outside.
Demolition commenced the day after my original post. Floors, walls, tub, flushometer toilet all gone. New plumbing has been installed, new floors are in, and walls are ready to be put up. The tub arrived just a few days ago and is waiting to be installed.
There was a delay in figuring out some fixtures designs (I'm a gemini and can never make a decision!) and some plumbing issues & since I live in a co-op, required approval and removal/replacement. It was smooth but a delay nonetheless.
So now tiles are purchased, toilet is purchased, shower door is purchased, remaining fixtures are purchased. The end is nigh!
Check out some progress photos below:

Time for an Update -- and A New Bathroom!
So it's been some time since I've made any updates on my journey...
Naturally, I stepped away from this after buying my apartment. But so much has happened since then!
The apartment is holding down well. I now sit on the board of directors for the co-op - which is pretty interesting to say the least. There are a lot of intricacies that go into running a building as-well as running a corporation - these folks are committed. This building is incredibly fortunate.
Anyway, when I bought the apartment and renovated, I kind of envisioned renovating the entire space (kitchen, living room, bathroom, & living room). But once started in on the kitchen and living room I quickly realized how expensive renovations were! I ran out of money so I had to stick with the kitchen & living room and someday in the future, after saving more money, renovate my bathroom.
That day has finally come!
It took a long while: a couple of tax refunds (excluding this year - thanks 115th Congress -_-), lots of penny pinching, and some discipline but I've saved enough to renovate my bathroom. It's just gotten to the point where I'm so ready to get rid of it, you know?
I don't plan on doing anything extravagant...but it's a gut renovation - new tile floor, new black splash, installing a tank toilet, new tub, pedestal sink, and a frameless glass shower door. Check out the before pictures! I'll of course update the progress - I like taking pictures as the work progresses. Let's hope this is a smooth renovation - wish me luck!

Update! - I'm so late.
Hey y'all.
I'm super late with this but better late than never!
So things have been going swell in my semi-new pad. I've been slowly finishing things in the apartment. I finally purchased stools for my breakfast bar, a WASHER AND DRYER (I'm seriously so excited about that) and I finally painted on a chalkboard on my kitchen wall. I decided to take some pictures today because I am having my family over tonight for dinner so I actually cleaned my apartment, lol.
Anyhew, my next (and last) project is to renovate the bathroom. It's pretty pricey so I'm going to wait another year to get it done. It's not in desperate need of renovation, but I just don't like it very much.
Check out the pics below!!
Until next time! J
P.S. Yes, I am watching @Midnight in the background. Love that show, lol.

I Moved!
Well, I actually moved 4 weeks ago but it has seriously taken me this long to get my act together. There have been a series of unfortunate events in my personal life in the past month that has kept me occupied.
However, I can say that I've been living on my own for a month now. And I love it.
Getting up in the morning and having a routine is pretty cool. Wake up. Make a cup of coffee. Watch the morning news from my kitchen. Make some breakfast. Watch some Scandal or Agents of Shield. Go to work.
It's fantastic. I'm so happy to be in my own home! I still need to get a few things. But I'm taking my time. And unfortunately, I do not have a limitless bank account lol. Check out the pics below!
Love, J.

Renovations. Are. Done!!!!!!
Renovations started on Thursday, May 30th, 2013.
After four months of arduous, stressful, adventurous, challenging, and EXPENSIVE work, I can finally say, MY APARTMENT IS READY!
Painting is almost finished, just a few areas that need to be touched up but it's about 90% done.
Kitchen is done.
Floors are done.
Move in date is set!
Now I just need to find time to pack! Work has been cray cray! Check out the photo's below! :-)

The End...
So it's been a minute since my last post. My apologies! The beginning of the school year is always the busiest at work!
So I am in the final stages of getting the apartment move-in ready!!!
All the appliances are installed.
Kitchen backsplash is being grouted.
Floors have been sanded, repaired, and sealed.
Painting will commence next week.
And most importantly...I have set a date to officially move in! October 19!
This has been a very long, stressful, expensive journey, but by far the most rewarding, exciting, and thrilling of my life. I honestly can't be more grateful. Stay tuned for pics after painting has been completed! In the meantime, check out the pics below!
